My Professional Experience Story
I started my career as a maintenance manager. I was responsible for the maintenance of the electrical equipment of the Patras’plant of TITAN Cement Company and new technology projects. My most important achievement was the high utilization of equipment and the successful implementation of PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) technology in distributed automation systems. Additionally I was the Safety manager of the plant with the mission to convince the employees to work safely and effectively.
I moved to production and adapted myself to a new environment with new targets and processes. Coordinating people and equipment targeting cost, quality and safety improvement. Personally, I had the opportunity to experience and practice the concept of Total Quality Management. One of my key targets was the radical optimization of safety in production department.
I was promoted to the leading position of plant director with the mission of present and future profitability and customers’ and other stakeholders’ satisfaction. The experience in directing three cement plants (Patras,Kamari, Elefsina) with challenging goals in an effective and safe way, was unique.
The expansion of TITAN the last 15 years was rapid and the need of well trained engineers was very high. Next I was offered the position of HR director and I had the responsibility to attract, develop, and train young managers, according to the vision and the values of TITAN. One of my achievements was to initiate the creation of company’s university together with safety culture development.
